The basic plot and how the comic works

There is some sort of straightforward plot to Automatic Freestyle. Basically it follows a small group of characters throughout their lives in a series of flashbacks. This is when it gets a bit complex because the story constantly jumps back and forward in time and space. Although the characters are in some way based on real people and that most of the plots come from truth, it’s not exactly a serious comic, as you will see.
The plots cover practically everything from love, life, the universe, and everything. Be it Emma and Mouse falling for Steve, Marc’s laptop coming to life, university madness, breaking the fourth wall, or the adventures of the strange but fame-craving mascots.
The profiles for the ‘main’ characters can be found here.

Below are some diagrams and full explanations of what you see on the comic and on the site;

1) Comic title – The title of the overall comic.

2) Writer/Artist – The name of the writer and artist.

3) Year – Whenever a flashback/forward transpires, a box will appear with the year in which the event occurred. The box mostly appears in the top left but can sometimes appear in the right corner. If there is no year box then this means it’s a continuation from the previous comic. For example, here the current scene took place in 2003.

4) Copyright – It’s my original comic… no swiping.

5) Details – This is broken down into four parts;
1 – Date: this date is not for the storyline, it’s when I actually completed creating it. The date I actually uploaded the comic is shown in the babble under the comic.
2 – Comic number: the number of the comic, increases by one every comic.
3 – Storyline code: see more about codes a bit further below.
4 – Storyline number: this only increases when a comic of the same storyline code is shown.

6) URL – The domain name for this comic.

Cover: These are just ‘chapter’ cover pages or random bits of art
A3S: Life, the universe, and everything.
After Steve: A series I wrote years ago before that was originally going to be quick comic strips. This follows Emma and Mouse in high school trying to attract new kid Steve.
