[084 - 2000] Spabbit
Comic chat A bit of a confidence-drop with my artwork added to the many other reasons this comic didn’t get drawn ages ago. Really sorry about the delay. I kinda like this one now it’s done though. Kiki and Lapin look well cute in the final panel, ne? The whole teacher/graduate-look and long explanation is semi-based on the character Washu from ‘Tenchi Muyo’, but is mostly a head-nod to my compelling NEED to over-explain my ideas and such to people. Her ‘lesson’ was originally even longer than this, but I cut it down… yeah, just one of my little OCD-like characteristics, heh. I can see Kiki being the same though for slightly different reasons. The simple humans need these things explained to them after all. Jethro is once again being used as the ‘question guy’ as he’s supposed to be the most ‘normal’ character out the lot. Out of all the ‘universes’ I’ve included him in, he’s been the least developed, shall have to fix that. Anyone else think he looks hilarious in chibi-mode? Inside silly factoids: I name most my tech after my original manga characters. My laptop is Kiki, my PDA is Tizz, my PC is MAI-2, and my first external hard drive is called Lapin. Lapin originally came from a daft sci-fi series of mine and was basically a ‘space rabbit’ (spabbit), from another planet. I think it’s amusing that it wasn’t until I was writing this comic that I realised the ‘space’ part could now relate to hard drive space… well, I think I cracked on that earlier (I did write the script years ago), but this reminded me. I was tempted to call this page ‘over-explaining’ or ‘tl;dr’ which is some internet thingy for ‘too long; didn’t read’, but just settled with ‘Spabbit’.Stuff and things Mostly the same as the last entry, I’m still trying to get on with various projects and also do lots of other things. Full time work does somewhat get in the way of world domination. I had an interview for a part time art/computer teaching job in a college and essentially got the job, but I had to turn them down because it just wasn’t feasible due to the distance and the few hours they only needed me per week. Was a shame because I really liked the place for several reasons. I was able to help a little with a few things and some advice, but yeah, had to miss out on that one. The anime convention, Amecon 08, was excellent, and hopefully I’ll have a report up at some point, although don’t hold your breath, I still have finished the one from 2007. It made me really happy to meet up with some new and old friends. The only down-point was that there was so much going off at once that we missed out on a lot of stuff. Other weekends have been taxed by meeting up with people here and there for rather drunken nights out or just general chillage. I also recently got to meet up with some old friends from the school days for a catch up. More bars need Nintendo Wii’s in them. Also… Fish, Ven, and myself have been plotting stuff, yes… plotting… *says no more for now* Current track: Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot Current anime: Paradise Kiss
